About this item

The Zebra Critter Onesie turns a soft flannel romper into an animal: a character hood, a soft tummy panel and a zip down the front — sized for babies and toddlers from 56 to 110 cm.

  • The Zebra design — No two zebras have exactly the same stripes, and a foal learns its mother's pattern to find her in the herd. A bold black-and-white safari look.
  • The hood is the character — Each design is built into the hood — ears, horns, spines or fins stitched in place — so the animal reads from every angle, and the body stays a simple romper underneath.
  • Easy on, easy off — A zip runs down the front, which is what makes a costume usable on a wriggling baby: open it, change them, zip it back up.
  • Design — Zebra
  • Fabric — 100% polyester flannel
  • Hood — Sewn-on character hood, not detachable

What owners say

  • Runs a little big

Ordered by height as suggested and it is slightly roomy, which is fine for a growing baby.
    Sarah K.
  • Gift that got worn

Bought it as a baby-shower gift and the parents sent a photo a week later. The Zebra hood is very cute.
    Jessica P.
  • Zip makes it easy

The front zip is the best part: nappy changes without a fight. Sized up and it has room for a vest underneath.
    Laura M.
  • Stripes for days

The black-and-white stripes look striking in every photo, indoors or out.
    Noor A.
  • Zebra at the safari party

Safari first birthday, and she was the zebra among a room of lions and giraffes.
    Daniel H.
  • Room to grow in 90

Size 90 on our 73 cm girl is roomy. We roll the cuffs and she is fine.
    Hollie B.
  • Spot the difference

At the zoo she sat in front of the zebra paddock and matched them perfectly. Strangers took photos.
    Kieran D.
  • Too hot on the drive

Cosy, but in a warm car with the hood bunched behind her she got too hot. We dress her on arrival now.
    Mark T.
  • Fits the monochrome nursery

Her nursery is all black, white and grey, so this suit looks like it was made for the room.
    Priyanka D.
  • Crisp after cold washes

Five cold washes inside out and the stripes are still crisp, no greying of the white.
    Sean M.
  • Twin zebras

Both twins in zebra suits, one in 80 and one in 90 because they are different heights. Very handy to size by height.
    Victoria L.
  • Two weeks in transit

Tracked from start to finish, but it took about two weeks to reach us.
    Courtney P.
  • Last-minute Halloween

Needed a costume the week before Halloween and already had this. Warm for the walk round the block.
    Katie O.
  • Zebra ears up top

The zebra ears on the hood stand up and give it a lovely shape.
    Nicole F.
  • Storytime in stripes

We read her zebra picture book with her wearing it. She keeps patting the stripes on her tummy.
    Cassie W.
  • Lint on the black

The black stripes show every bit of lint. A quick roll before photos sorts it.
    Jess C.
  • Size 110 for 97 cm

Fits our 97 cm toddler with room for a long-sleeve top.
    Ruth G.
  • The little zebra

The staff at daycare now call her the little zebra.
    Brian K.
  • Wish the hood unclipped

The hood is sewn on. For car journeys I would prefer one that comes off.
    Joanna T.
  • Black-and-white portrait

We did a black-and-white portrait session and the stripes made it look like art.
    Aaron P.
  • Tough enough for toddlers

Crawled through the park in it, came home grubby, and a cold wash had it looking new.
    Farah S.

Frequently asked questions

Which size should I order?

Go by height. Size 70 fits 56–66 cm, 80 fits 66–70 cm, 90 fits 70–80 cm, 100 fits 80–90 cm, 110 fits 90–100 cm and 120 fits 100–110 cm. Between two sizes, take the larger — it leaves room for a layer underneath.

What is it made of?

100% polyester flannel, including the hood. Machine wash cold, inside out, and zip it up first.

Can my child sleep in it?

No. It is a costume and loungewear, not sleepwear. It is a loose, hooded plush garment; children should sleep in close-fitting sleepwear with nothing near the face. Take it off before naps and bedtime, and keep an eye on a baby in it so they do not overheat.
