Pick a keychain when the gift should be used every day and a boxed figure when it should be displayed. A silicone figure keychain is small, soft and light: it rides on keys, a school bag or a backpack zip, and a wrist strap makes the keys easy to pull out of a bag. A boxed PVC mini figure is a display piece: firmer, painted in more detail, and sold in a window box about 16 cm tall that can stand on a shelf as it arrived. Price follows the same split — keychains sit under $10 and work as stocking fillers, party-bag gifts or an add-on to an order, while a boxed figure around $30 is a gift on its own. Both contain small parts: a keychain clasp and a figure's accessories are not for children under three, which is the age limit the US small-parts rule is built around. For a young child, choose something else; for an older child, teenager or adult fan, either works.
Keychain or boxed figure: which one is the gift?
The two look like the same idea at different sizes. They are not. A keychain is an everyday object that happens to be a character; a boxed figure is a display piece that happens to be small. The right one depends on where the gift will end up — on a set of keys or on a shelf.

What is the difference between silicone and PVC?
Silicone is soft and rubbery. On a keychain that is the point: it bends instead of chipping when keys are thrown on a table, it does not rattle, and it will not scratch a phone in the same pocket. The trade-off is detail — silicone figures are moulded in fewer, bolder colours, which is why most of them are drawn in a big-head "chibi" style.
PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is the usual material for small display figures. It holds a sharper shape and takes painted detail on faces and costumes, so it suits something that will be looked at rather than handled every day. It is firmer, so it can chip if dropped on a hard floor, and it belongs on a shelf rather than in a bag.
How big are they?
Our boxed figures come in a window box about 16 cm tall and 11.5 cm wide, and the figure fills most of it. Boxed, most weigh about 100–117 g; the heaviest character in the range is about 217 g. That is small enough for a bookshelf or the space beside a monitor, and every character shares the same box, so a row of them stands level.
The keychains are palm-sized: the figure, a silicone wrist strap and a gold-tone lobster clasp with a key ring. Small enough for a pocket, large enough to find by feel at the bottom of a bag.

Are they safe for children?
Not for the youngest. In the United States, the small-parts rule in 16 CFR Part 1501 bans toys and articles intended for children under three that have parts small enough to be a choking hazard. A keychain clasp, a key ring and a figure's small accessories are exactly that kind of part. Neither product is a toy: the keychains are accessories and the boxed figures are display collectibles sold for ages 18 and up.
For a child under three, choose something else. For an older child, keep the clasp in mind on a school bag; for a teenager or adult fan, either works.
How to choose a small gift for a fan
- Pick the character, not the product. The gift lands when it is their favourite. Both keyring ranges and the figures are sold one character at a time, and the photo changes when you pick one.
- Match the gift to the habit. Someone who carries a backpack or a big bunch of keys gets more use from a keychain; someone with a desk or a shelf of collectibles gets more from a figure.
- Use the price as a plan. Under $10 is a stocking filler or a party-bag gift. Around $30 is a present on its own — and an order of $29.99 or more ships free.
- Think in sets. Every figure shares one box and scale, so a second or third character lines up with the first. Keychains in matching straps work the same way for siblings or a group of friends.

Something a step up?
If the fan already has a keychain, the next step is a figure that does something. Our light-and-sound figures are a size up — most about 30 cm tall — and the assembly models are built one suit at a time, a small project before they go on display. Both start at $34.99.

Frequently asked questions
Is a silicone keychain or a PVC figure better as a gift?
It depends on where it will live. A silicone keychain is for everyday use on keys or a bag and costs under $10; a boxed PVC figure is a display piece for a shelf or desk and costs around $30.
How big is a boxed mini figure?
Ours come in a window box about 16 cm tall and 11.5 cm wide, weighing about 100–117 g boxed (the heaviest character is about 217 g).
Are superhero keychains safe for toddlers?
No. The clasp, key ring and small parts are a choking hazard, and the US small-parts rule (16 CFR Part 1501) is set around children under three. They are accessories, not toys.
Does the keychain come with the strap attached?
Yes. Each keyring arrives assembled with the figure, a silicone wrist strap and a gold-tone clasp and ring, individually bagged.
Is shipping free on a $9.99 keychain?
Orders under $29.99 ship for a flat $9.99; from $29.99 shipping is free, so adding a keychain to a larger order, or buying three, is the way to ship it free.
